Unity has a way to connect all the developers in gaming industry together and its called Unite. There are a lot of things that happen in these events. Artists from all around the world come together to show off their creations, students come here to get a closer glimpse of the developments in the industry, industries come to showcase their products, a lot of tech enthusiasts like me, go there to enjoy the “geeky” environment that we get in such events. Why not, I get to meet quite a lot of like-minded people sharing their stories and opinions on different fads.
For the first time, Unity decided to have it in India. So, Unite India 2017 happened in Hyderabad on 8th and 9th of November 2017. I got an opportunity to present my work at Viga Studios in Unite. My talk was mostly about optimization methods that we can get within Unity when building VR walkthroughs for mobile devices. The talk was to emphasize the importance of optimization in real-time rendering. I did this by presenting a VR Walkthrough that we made at Viga Studios as a case study. I spent a fair amount of time going back to my project and benchmarking the performance of each optimization technique.
